ST. JOHN VILLA RENTAL
IMPORTANT TINGS
There is no airport on St John!
So travelers fly into St Thomas (STT), and take a ferry here. There are a couple of options from the airport:
Take a 5 minute taxi ride to Crown Bay Marina with a 40 minute ferry ride to The Creek in Cruz Bay with Inter Island Boat Services or take a 30 minute taxi ride to Red Hook with a 10 minute ferry to the Cruz Bay Ferry Dock with Varlack Ventures Ferry
Time wise and money wise is generally similar either way you decide. Personally, we prefer a shorter taxi ride, but it all depends when you land and how the ferries are running at that time of the year. NOTE: taxis take cash only!
You don’t need a passport! The US Virgin Islands are a US territory, and thus considered a domestic destination. Unless you are planning an excursion to our friendly neighbors in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), no passport is required.
You will need to rent a 4-wheel drive vehicle! We love our private location with spectacular views, and a sturdy 4WD Jeep is just the price we have to pay to be able to access this fabulous spot! And trust us, it’s totally worth it. We recommend Courtesy Car Rental and Aqua Blue Car Rental
We have the BEST Island Property Manager! We are lucky to have an amazing property manager who has lived on St John for a couple of decades, who knows the villa inside and out, and who is familiar with all things St John. And on the off-chance that something needs attention while you’re there, he lives close by and will have it all under control. Not all villas have such personal management, and he sets us apart from other villas in our opinion, truly!
